Oribe x Kohei Kyomori

Introducing Kohei (ko-he) Kyomori, the contemporary decorative artist behind our limited-edition Holiday 2022 collection. Kohei’s mindset is that art is an opportunity to bridge social and cultural barriers to create beauty that can be understood and admired by all.

In Goddess of Paradise, Kohei has woven together traditional Japanese animal and plant motifs in a garden landscape with a goddess figure’s flowing hair turning into water. All the different shapes and forms that water takes represents the myriad of different hair textures, all beautiful, of the human race. The animals and insects shown in the work are allured by the scents of the plants which call back to the iconic scent of Côte d’Azur.
